Where we came from - to where we are now!
The Basingstoke and Deane Canoe Club was formed in 1987 as an initiative by the Borough Council to provide canoe based recreational activities and amenities for the young people of Basingstoke.The Club quickly developed into a fully constituted organisation in its own right and is affiliated to the British Canoe Union. We currently have around 100 members of all ages.
Our members come from all walks of life and include many people from youth organisations such as the Scouts and Guides.
We have fully qualified BCU Coaches and can organise courses and activities to cater for a wide range of abilities. (Including BCU 4 Star, Aquatic first aid and Canoe Safety Test.)
The Club encourages family membership and many non-canoeing family members and friends take part in our trips and social activities.
