BADCC Hints and Tips
Back to Hints & TipsPaddling Safely on the Canal
When we are paddling on canals and rivers it is important that we pay particular attention of the abilities and requirements of the whole group. Here are a few ground rules:
- Always be aware of who is paddling with you
- Do not paddle by yourself, especially if you are a beginner, or a slow paddler. If you cannot keep up with your group, stop and wait for the group behind, which is probably paddling more slowly, or get your group to slow down
- If you are a more advanced paddler and you come across someone who is struggling by him or herself, stick with them.
See you at the Canal!
