In the last six weeks the Clubhouse has started to rise out of the ground.

With the foundations in place the retaining wall between the changing rooms and the boat store has been completed.  The retaining wall has been necessary because the vehicular access from the car park is about one metre below the level of the canal towpath: the club room and changing rooms will be level with the towpath whilst the boat store will be level with the car park.  Colt Hill Clubhouse will thus benefit from a higher ceiling in the boat store.

The external walls and internal load-bearing walls have been built up to damp proof course level so the floor slabs can be laid.  The size of Colt Hill Clubhouse is now more readily apparent.

Before the floor slabs can be placed it has been necessary to lay the drainage under the slabs.  Also some ducts have been placed to allow for future services installation.

Hardcore and a damp proof membrane have been laid so that the floor slab reinforcement can be placed and the floor slabs cast.  The floor slabs have been cast.

The concrete blocks and facing bricks have been delivered to site and work has started on the walls.

Steel work for the roof has been measured on site and fabrication is in progress.
