The Club has a variety of equipment that can be borrowed by Club members. For the swimming pool session at QMC used of equpiment is included in the cost. For evening sessions at the canal a boat, paddle, buoyancy aid and spraydeck can be borrowed for £6, less if you can supply any of the kit yourself.
For full details please refer to the borrowing equipment page.
The Club's activities are run broadly at cost.
The Wednesday evening pool session costs £4 for half an hour and £6 for three-quarters of an hour of casual paddling, including all equipment. The Wednesday evening sessions from Colt Hill Clubhouse on the Basingstoke Canal at Colt Hill Wharf in Odiham have no direct charge: if you need to borrow Club equipment there is a charge of between £4 and £6, depending what you need, to cover wear and tear; if you paddle your own boat you will need either a licence or Canoe England membership.
Over the winter we run a series weekend trips away to paddle white water. These include two nights accommodation and Saturday evening's dinner and cost between about £35 and £50 depending on the accommodation. Club equipment can be borrowed if necessary but is not included in the basic cost.
During the summer we run sea kayaking trips: evening trips to the Solent and Southampton Water and day trips to the Dorset Coast and the Isle of Wight. There is no direct charge: if you need to borrow Club equipment there is a charge of between £4 and £6, depending what you need, to cover wear and tear.
