The second work party of the 2012 season followed on from the hedge planting the previous weekend. The first two hours were spent watering all the saplings planted a week ago. We then started preparation for sowing more wild flower meadow at the eastern end: trimming the ground where it was hummocky and raking the soil that has been exposed to the frost over the winter to create a fine tilth. All we need now is more showery weather in which to sow the seed.
