This was a our first midweek digger day of 2013. Our target to remove another 40 cubic metres of unwanted subsoil and work towards getting vehicular access to the new hardstanding.
The spoil heap that had collected over the winter was substantially reduced with access for dumptrucks created between the spoil and the fence. Additional soil was removed close to the vehicular access gates to improve access for the dump trucks used to move the spoil.
At the east end of the compound another 5 metre wide strip was taken down to formation level in preparation for placing another strip strip of geogrid and crushed stone.
It was another successful day but with less to see than sometimes - it is difficult to see a heap of soil that has largely been removed.
