Saturday 14th December

With the main works to the entrance completed our attention today turned to the details.  In particular to constructing drawpits at each end of the ducts under the entrance such that the remaining holes can be filled.

You might ask why we have laid two ducts across the entrance.  One is for a power cable should we ever need power in the car park.  The other is for communications cables, just in case we ever decide we need a CCTV camera in the car park.

On the east side the excavation next to the catchpit had already been dug and just need to be trimmed for the drawpit base to be set in concrete.  We were then able to start filling the remaining hole with crushed stone.

On the west side we have dug out for the drawpit so it can be installed the next time we are working at Colt Hill.

Thanks to John and Peter.
