This week we had decided to make completing as much as possible of the landscaping work at the eastern end of the land this autumn a priority, so a work party seemed a good idea. 

Sunday 18th September

First area sownA gap in the rain and the forecast of shows made today the ideal day to start sowing the wildflower meadow mix. 

31st August

Pothole repairsIn addition to work parties at the weekend, we have also been making use of Wednesday evenings at Colt Hill to undertake volunteer work.

This evening we have filled about a dozen potholes in the public car park with compacted crushed stone. We have also spread topsoil over an area ofapproximately 100m2 of the area at the east end of the land that is due to be sown with wild flower meadow mix.

 

27th and 28th August

Following a week of activity we had a weekend of tidying the site and prepare for landscaping works at the east end of the site.

Week Commencing Monday 22nd August

Excavator and dumperA second round of assistance from Southern Electric and Xcav8 has allowed us to start th bulk earthmoving.

Country Watch posterThe local Community Support Officer has for sometime been in contact with the Colt Hill team for some time. When we knew that mechanical plant was going to be brought on site we made the police aware. Now we are registered with Country Watch.
